This week we give the warmest of welcomes to the newest member of the Tended team - Manoj Elangovan!

Manoj joins the Hardware Engineering team as a Design and Production Engineer having recently completed his MSc in Mechatronics and Robotics at the University of Leeds. He has a great level of understanding of all things mechanical/electronic/embedded and we know he'll be a real asset to Tended as we continue to grow.

A new integral member of the engineering team, Manoj will be supporting the volume production, deployment and continuous quality improvement of Tended’s high-precision positioning Wearables and associated equipment. He’ll also be working on the development of new features, improvements and future products to help everyone get home safe, every day.

We took five minutes out of the day to chat with Manoj and get to know him a little better...

  1. What will you be doing/be responsible for in your new role at Tended?

Hardware designs and mechanical designs with some embedded system programs when required. I’ll also be testing the final product and managing the inventories.

  1. What are you most looking forward to about working at Tended?

Learning the entire technical process and understand what is expected of me in order to apply my full potential!

  1. What motivates you at work?

The challenges at work or any similar situations motivates me to push myself every time, and I am eager to learn more.

  1. What’s your most used productivity hack?

I would suggest making yourself comfortable and try to be interested in what you do which helps to produce more results rather than working on something you are not interested in.

  1. Who inspires you?

There is a lot of inspirational people I admire so it's hard to pinpoint a single person. I believe that all of those who come up with new technologies or inventions inspire me. But, if I had to say a name it would be Elon Musk for his supercapacitor batteries and Falcon rockets.

  1. What’s the most exciting part about your job?

The most interesting part of my job would be bridging the gap between all the fields of engineering and being an all-rounder in the technical department.

  1. Do you have any pets?

No, I don't have pets.

  1. What do you like to do in your spare time?

I would like to travel, play on Xbox, binge-watch series and go to the cinema.

  1. How would your friends describe you?

Being a genuine and considerate person.

  1. What’s something you’re proud of doing in your lifetime?

I would be proud of achieving all my goals irrespective of the hurdles in between, I never back down and I believe I'm there exactly where I'm supposed to be.

It's fantastic to have you join the team, Manoj!
